PROVIDER IDENTIFIED FOR BOORAGOON MEDICARE URGENT CARE CLINIC
The Albanese Government is pleased to announce a provider has been selected to operate the new Booragoon Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC) following a competitive tender process led by the Western Australia Primary Health Alliance.
The Booragoon Medical Centre has been identified as the successful provider to operate the Booragoon Medicare Urgent Care Clinic, which will be located at 1 Aldous Place, Booragoon.
The clinic will be open seven days a week operating extended hours.
The new Medicare UCC will begin providing urgent care for the community over the coming months.
The clinic will help to ease pressure on the Fiona Stanley Hospital emergency department, where around 35 per cent of presentations in 2023-24 were for semi-urgent or non-urgent conditions.
The Booragoon Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will join the existing network of eight UCCs across Western Australia.
Ninety Medicare UCCs are in operation across Australia, which have already seen more than 2.2 million presentations since the first sites opened in June 2023. This includes over 241,900 presentations to the existing Western Australia Medicare UCCs.
