STRENGTHENING TANGNEY’S DEFENCE INDUSTRY
The Albanese Government is backing Australian businesses and Australian jobs including Veem and Aurora Labs along with their workers right here in Tangney.
Veem have been awarded a $1,000,000 Defence Industry Development Grant (DIDG) to acquire a multi-axis CNC machine capable of machining valves, propellers and other critical components required for nuclear-powered submarines (NPS) and other naval vessels.
Veem has also been awarded a $1,000,000 DIDG to procure a 3D sand printer capable of printing moulds required for the casting of propellers, valves and other critical components for NPS, Ghost Shark and other naval vessels.
Aurora Labs Ltd has been awarded a $544,333 DIDG to procure two multi-5-axis CNC machining centres for high precision capabilities for the manufacture of turbines and 3D printed components linked to guided weapons and autonomous systems.
The DIDG Program helps deliver priority defence capabilities while supporting local manufacturing and investing in technical skills development.
The Albanese Government is committed to growing Australia’s defence industrial base – and the latest round of the DIDG program continues to deliver on that commitment.
