TANGNEY SET TO BECOME MORE ACCESSIBLY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY
The Albanese Government is investing $125,000 in accessible infrastructure and amenities in Tangney so people with disability can enjoy our national parks, waterways and play spaces.
In partnership with the City of Melville, the new Library, Museum and Arts Centre will include a Changing Places facility.
This Changing Places is part of the latest round of funding under the Accessible Australia initiative, which will provide $3.8 million for 37 new inclusive amenities projects across the country.
The accessible amenities include eight inclusive beach projects, 12 fixed Changing Places facilities, five portable Changing Places facilities and 12 inclusive play spaces.
This Changing Places facility will help more locals and visitors enjoy access to the Library, Museum and Arts Centre, which is set to commence construction in 2027.
This latest funding reflects our government’s strong focus on inclusion for people with disability across all aspects of our society and in every community.
Funding is delivered through Federation Funding Agreement Schedules with the government working in partnership with participating states and territories.
